Alberta Announces Her Candidacy
Fresh Face Announces She Will Run for District Judge
February 4, 2013 -- Alberta Scarfaro will be announcing her candidacy to run for Magisterial District Judge, District Court 31-1-07 located in Whitehall Township on Thursday – February 7th. She will be announcing at 10:00 through her website www.electalbertascarfaro.com and Facebook page.
Alberta (Allie) Scarfaro has lived in Whitehall for over a decade. She is the mother of Madison, a junior at Whitehall High School and Christian, a 7th grader attending the Middle School.
Alberta is running because she believes in upholding the integrity and impartiality of our judiciary. She is dedicated to ensuring that every one of our neighbors that walk into her court will be treated fairly without prejudice or preconceived notions. Alberta is committed to maintaining the quality of life and safety in our thriving community.
Alberta dedicated her time to attend the certification training for prospective magisterial judges in Harrisburg and passed the exam that is required by the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. If Alberta is fortunate enough to be elected to this position by our community, she is both certified and qualified to perform the duties of Magisterial District Judge by the Minor Judiciary Education Board.
During Alberta’s Master’s program at Kutztown University she was approved for an independent study to shadow different Magisterial District Judges. She spent numerous days sitting in the court room observing court proceedings and the conduct of the court. She is grateful to the Judges that allowed her to observe them and has a great respect for their integrity and willingness to allow her to learn so much.
Alberta has significant previous experience as a supervisor, instructor, paralegal and property manager. As property manager, she represented the landlords in court as well as filing all necessary documents. She holds a Bachelor of Political Science and a Master of Public Administration, both from Kutztown University. Alberta is also a member of the Whitehall Township Zoning Hearing Board, a quasi-judicial body.
